2025 Horror Movies: Frightfully Fun Originals
Let’s grave-dig into the major releases of 2025 horror movies that have all the jump scares, chills, and thrills.
Companion (Streaming Soon)
A chill weekend getaway at a secluded cabin spirals into spooky chaos when the group’s trusted companion—an android designed for cozy human connection—goes horrifyingly haywire. Who knew self-care could get this scary? Check out my review here.
Heart Eyes (Streaming Soon)
Every Valentine’s Day, a masked maniac with chilling red eyes emerges to deliver bloody heartbreak to unsuspecting couples. But when a cynical ad exec and her hopelessly romantic coworker find themselves next on the killer’s twisted list, they refuse to play victim—teaming up to end his sinister love story once and for all.
Sinners (April 18, 2025)
Twin brothers return to their hometown hoping for a fresh start—but instead, they’re greeted by something much darker than nostalgia. An evil presence is waiting, proving that sometimes home isn’t just haunted by memories…but by real monsters aka vampires. I have to admit, this is one of the most highly-anticipated 2025 horror movies.
Until Dawn (April 25, 2025)
A fun night with friends takes a terrifying twist when they’re caught in a deadly time loop, forced to relive the same horrifying hours as mysterious villains hunt them down one gruesome kill at a time. Can they outlast the darkness and survive until dawn, or are they doomed to repeat the nightmare forever?
Clown in a Cornfield (May 9, 2025)
Based on the bestselling YA horror novel, expect plenty of bloody good fun and a killer clown! In a sleepy, midwestern town haunted by nostalgia, Frendo the clown—once an innocent mascot of happier times—returns as a terrifying nightmare, spreading fear rather than cheer. The good old days were never supposed to be this deadly. I don’t know why, but, I’m thinking this movie, from all the 2025 horror movies, has the highest potential to become a Halloween lovers cult classic.
Dangerous Animals (June 6, 2025)
When Zephyr—a fearless, free-spirited surfer—is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and trapped aboard his boat, the ocean turns from freedom to fear. With time running out before he offers her up in a twisted feeding ritual, she’ll have to outsmart the predator above before becoming prey to the ones below.
Him (September 19, 2025)
A rising football star gets the chance of a lifetime when he’s invited to train at a secluded compound under a legendary, aging quarterback. But as the isolation sets in, it becomes clear—this isn’t just about the game. It’s about legacy, control…and the dark price of greatness.
2025 Horror Movies: Terrifying Sequels & Reboots
Let’s grave-dig into the releases of 2025 horror movies that we’ve been dying to come back to the big screen.
Final Destination: Bloodlines (May 16, 2025)
The franchise that scarred millennials for life returns with a vengeance! Tormented by relentless, blood-soaked nightmares, a college student heads back to her hometown in a desperate bid to find the one person who can end the terrifying cycle and rescue her family from the gruesome fate creeping ever closer. Welcome back to your worst nightmare.
28 Years Later (June 20, 2025)
A long-awaited continuation of the cult zombie horror franchise, this is definitely one of my top anticipated sequels of 2025. A tight-knit group of rage virus survivors has carved out a fragile peace on a remote island. But when one of them ventures back to the mainland, what he finds isn’t just the infected—it’s twisted remnants of humanity, dark secrets, and terrifying mutations that prove survival changes everyone.
M3GAN 2.0 (June 27, 2025)
Two years after M3GAN’s deadly rampage, Gemma is forced to resurrect her infamous creation—this time, not to babysit, but to battle. When a ruthless defense contractor unleashes Amelia, a military-grade killing machine built on stolen M3GAN tech, it’s a high-stakes showdown of code, chaos, and killer dolls.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (July 18, 2025)
A group of friends finds their lives unraveling when a relentless stalker begins tormenting them—armed with chilling knowledge of a gruesome secret they thought was buried for good. The past is back, and it’s out for blood. From all the reboots in the 2025 horror movies lineup, I have a feeling it’s going to be a hit amongst the Summerween craze that’s brewing up.
Toxic Avenger (August 29, 2025)
After a freak toxic spill, underdog janitor Winston Gooze undergoes a monstrous makeover, emerging as the hilariously horrifying antihero no one saw coming: The Toxic Avenger—the reboot. He’s messy, mutated, and ready to mop the floor with evil.
The Conjuring: Last Rites (September 5, 2025)
In their final and most chilling chapter, legendary paranormal duo Ed and Lorraine Warren face a haunting unlike any before—where the entities are darker, the stakes are higher, and confronting the unknown might cost them everything. One last case… and it’s a nightmare that won’t go quietly. Can I tell you a secret? This is one of the 2025 horror movies I’m really dreading to cover on the podcast. *covers eyes*
The Strangers: Chapter Two (September 25, 2025)
On the last leg of their cross-country road trip, a couple’s car breaks down, stranding them at a remote Airbnb that feels eerie from the start. As night descends, three masked strangers emerge from the shadows—turning their final stop into a fight for survival until sunrise.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 (December 5, 2025)
It’s 1987, and after a rough patch in life, Jeremy Fitzgerald lands a job as the night security guard at the newly reopened Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. But once the doors lock and the lights dim, he discovers this gig comes with more than just minimum wage—it comes with sinister secrets, haunted hallways, and animatronics that don’t like to stay put.

2025 Horror Movies: Indie Gems
Let’s grave-dig into the independent releases of 2025 horror movies that have all the blood, guts, and heart.
Woman in the Yard (In Theaters)
A mysterious woman keeps haunting a family’s front yard, delivering eerie warnings and spine-chilling messages that blur the lines between friend and foe. Who is she, why has she chosen them, and most importantly—what darkness follows her footsteps?
Hell of a Summer (In Theaters)
Hell of a Summer kicks off when 24-year-old camp counselor Jason Hochberg arrives at Camp Pineway, and we are expecting some awkward vibes hanging with his teen coworkers. But forget summer camp nostalgia—a masked slasher is lurking in the shadows, turning carefree summer nights into bloody nightmares as counselors get picked off one spine-chilling scare at a time.
Drop (April 11, 2025)
When a widowed mom finally braves the spooky dating scene again, her first upscale dinner date becomes a chilling nightmare. Anonymous threats start flooding her phone mid-meal, leaving her haunted by one question—is her charming date secretly a monster, or is something more sinister lurking in the shadows?
Rosario (May 2, 2025)
On a stormy, snowbound night, Rosario is forced into a chilling vigil with her grandmother’s lifeless body, awaiting an ambulance delayed by the fierce blizzard. But when eerie, otherworldly entities begin possessing her grandmother’s corpse, Rosario finds herself fighting through the icy darkness to survive a haunting she never saw coming.
Bring Her Back (May 30, 2025)
When a brother and sister settle into their new foster home, they quickly discover that their guardian’s cozy, secluded house hides a dark and terrifying ritual. Sometimes the scariest monsters are hiding right behind a mother’s smile…As far as how scary 2025 horror movies are looking, I’m definitely dreading this one.
The Ritual (June 6, 2025)
Two priests—one battling a crisis of faith, the other haunted by a dark past—are forced to confront their inner demons and work together for one harrowing mission: a high-stakes exorcism that could either save a soul… or doom them both.
I Don’t Understand You (June 6, 2025)
Stranded in the eerie countryside of rural Italy with no car, no signal, and zero language skills, an American couple teetering on the edge of parenthood finds their romantic getaway turning into a pressure cooker of fear, miscommunication, and unraveling trust. With their future hanging in the balance, this dream trip might just become a full-blown nightmare.
Together (August 1, 2025)
When a couple trades city life for a quiet countryside escape, they get more than fresh air and scenic views—a supernatural force is waiting, ready to twist their love, their reality, and even their bodies into something unrecognizable. Love was supposed to change them… just not like this. From all the 2025 horror movies, this one seems like the most mysterious. The marketing is so vague, uncomfortable, yet intriguing.
The Seductress from Hell (October 31, 2025)
A glamorous Hollywood starlet’s life unravels behind the scenes when her manipulative, psychopathic husband pushes her past her breaking point—triggering a monstrous transformation that’s more than skin deep. Fame fades. Vengeance glows.
